我今天回家，明天晚上才能落地，因此把明天的提前发了。回家以后我会四处走动，有时会没有网。我会尽量保证每天都有内容，但可能无法每天按时发布而需要提前或推后，请大家见谅。
上次发的时间专题，回复很少。今天就专门学几个与时间相关的idioms：


a) In the blink of an eye
【意思】If something happens in the blink of an eye, it happens nearly instantaneously, so fast that it is almost impossible to notice. “一眨眼的功夫“，形容事情发生得太快，几乎无法看到
【例句】The pickpocket disappeared in the blink ofan eye.
There was a huge "boom" and in the blink of an eye the buildings were gone.


b) (Living)on borrowed time
【意思】Living after the time you would haveexpected to have died and is not likely to live much longer This expressionrefers to a period of time after an illness or accident，which could have caused death. 死里逃生，通常是捱过大病大灾之后说的话；通常也意味着没有多少时间可活了
【语源】time ‘borrowed’ from after death，借时间指的是借死后的时间，就像今天借明天才有的收入一样。
【例句】After heart surgery, some patients say they're living on borrowed time.
I've got cancer - I'm living on borrowed time.
I think our hot water heater is on borrowed time.


c) Make up for lost time
【意思】to increase efforts or work harder to complete something or meet a deadline; hurry to compensate for wasted time; 加倍工作或努力以弥补失去的时间
同意词条: make up for ground
【例句】Progress has stopped because of badweather, but we are determined to make up for lost time.
They married late but hoped to make up for lost time.
We're behind in the schedule, and we'll just have to make up ground as best we can.
